Speaker: Benjamin Bach, University of Edinburgh
Focusing on relational data, i.e., networks, this talk demonstrates how visualization support the exploration and communication of complex data. Networks can include social networks, biological networks, geographic migration networks and many others. Through interactive and bespokely designed visualizations, we can interrogate and explore these complex data sets, complementing and informing quantitative analysis. Once understood, we visualization again provides us with powerful means to communicate these findings to larger audiences. The talk will show projects in these respective areas and encourages the use of these powerful tools.
